The Story

Bryon Widner was raised inside America's white-power movement — recruited as a boy, branded with its tattoos, and groomed into one of its enforcers. Then he meets Julie, a single mother of three, and begins to want a life the movement will not let him have.

Drawn from a true story, Guy Nattiv's English-language debut follows Widner's violent break with the only family he has ever known — and the long, painful erasure, inked line by inked line, of the man he was made to be. Jamie Bell's transformation anchors the film.

The film won the FIPRESCI Prize at its 2018 Toronto world premiere and was released by A24 the following summer. Nattiv's companion short of the same name won the Academy Award for Best Live Action Short.
